I was hearing a lot about one particular herb that
lowers Dehydrotestosterone (DHT) levels. That's the male hormone
that causes male pattern baldness. It seems this hormone dries
out the hair follicles until they don't grow very thick anymore
- alas "thinning" or "falling" hair.
Very Important: The following ingredients are listed
separately from the above because I feel they worked the best
for me. I started taking Saw Palmetto, Pygeum and Zinc. These
herbs all help to reduce Dehydrotestosterone (DHT) in your body.
I tried my best to use these light medications for
as long as I could. I didn't want to go right up to the highest
strength products (Rogaine and Propecia) to keep my hair and/or
grow it back.
I figured that if I did go straight for the best - the effects
of those medications would wear off long before I felt comfortable
with losing my hair. (Does that time ever come? I hope I never
find out.) So I went with the weaker stuff until the need really
came about for the big guns: Propecia (Finisteride) lowers DHT.
Rogaine helps your hair's "growth" phase last longer.
I'll get into Propecia and Rogaine a bit later.
First, I want to keep you on track with what helps before resorting
to more expensive medications. Because once you're on them, you
need to stay on them - at least to some extent. I'll get into
all this a bit later as well.
