If you can hit the treadmill once a day for up to thirty minutes, you can easily lose fifteen pounds in your first two weeks. (Any more than thirty minutes and you can start burning lean muscle mass. Of course, you don’t want to do that.
Tip!
Muscle burns fat, so you want to keep it. The more you have, the faster your metabolism is and that means more fat burning from your body).
Most of your weight loss in the beginning will be water, but who cares? You're losing fat and inches around your waist. You should try and work out up to thirty minutes but you don't have to do that right away.
Ten or fifteen minutes is better than nothing. If you're not in good shape, simply walk on the treadmill. Before you know it, you're going to be walking so fast that you'll actually start jogging. Believe me. It will happen.
When I first started running I couldn't believe it! It took a few months but now I can run for a while with no problem (and I have a heart condition called Supra Ventricular Tachycardia). This goes the same for an aerobic bike. Start slowly. If I can do it, you can do it!
If you don't have access to any of these things, it would be a good idea to join an inexpensive local gym or buy a piece of inexpensive equipment for home. This will help you to reach your goal faster. Like I said, it’s not necessary to exercise but you will obtain results even faster if you do.
One of the nicest things about low-carbing is that you don’t necessarily need to work out to lose weight. It just happens naturally. Regardless, working out is good for your health and it accelerates weight loss. So why not have a go at it? When you get thin, you don’t want to look frail, do you?
Simply walking is not enough. Neither is regular bike riding. There’s way too much time where you’re just gliding and not pedaling. Don't waste your time. Sure, it's fun to do this type of exercise, but you're not going to lose a lot of weight unless you get your heart rate up.
Walking and leisure bike riding won’t push your heart rate to where it needs to be. If it did, everyone would be thin. And all those people who walk around the building at lunchtime wouldn't still be so over weight.
The muscle you develop by riding a bike or walking the treadmill will help you to burn fat. Like I mentioned earlier, it's a fact that the more muscle you have on your body, the faster your metabolism is.
Believe it or not, the tanner you are, the faster your metabolism is as well. But, I won’t go into that. I don't believe in tanning - it makes your skin age. I'd rather be light skinned and young looking at 40 and 50 than tan for a few years and look much older, sooner...
